Get Ready For World PH Day 2013
5 May 2013 marks the annual World Pulmonary Hypertension Day which will build upon the success of the inaugural day held in Madrid, Spain in 2012.
This year’s theme is ‘Get Breathless for PH’. Harnessing the universal intercultural appeal of sport, people around the globe passionate about helping those living with PH will be encouraged to take part in sporting activities to ‘get breathless’. This imitates the experience of being breathless felt by many PH patients during everyday activities such as walking to the car or climbing the stairs. This powerful way of highlighting the restrictions on physical activity faced by PH patients will help to raise wider awareness of PH and bring to the forefront the challenges these patients face.
Activities will be held around the globe, not only on World PH Day but all year round.
